Fuel Surcharge

Fuel Surcharge applicable for travel

FUEL SURCHARGE IN EFFECT – UPDATED MONDAY 1ST OF JANUARY 2024

South Sea Cruises currently has a fuel surcharge to take effect for customers travelling with us on a resort transfer as well as applicable day trips. 

South Sea Cruises also notes that since setting the 2023/24 transfer rates, the Fiji Government has removed the 10c per litre duty concession which South Sea Cruises had factored into our rates at the time of issue and has now had to absorb. 

The applicable fuel surcharges in effect for travel as of Friday, 1st December 2023 are as follows:

  • Awesome Adventures Fiji Package or Pass customers – $15 per person. 
  • Resort Transfer only customers travelling to/from all Yasawa Island Resorts (including Vomo) – $15 per adult/$7.50 per child (2-15 years only) for each one-way sector. 

All fuel surcharges stated are in FJD and include applicable taxes.

Weather & Services Advisory #1 – Tropical Cyclone Vaianu

South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG) is closely monitoring the now named weather system; Tropical Cyclone Vaianu tracking to the west of the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands forecasted to bring strong winds and rough seas to our region of operation. Given the current weather warnings, SSCG is advising all hotels, resorts, customers and industry partners of the following:

Monday, 6th of April 2026:
The following products & services are now suspended for today in the Yasawa Islands:
 All Day Trips 
 Route 17 to the lower Yasawa Islands.

The operational focus for today is Resort Transfer services (other than those suspended as per above) aboard our large ferry’s however please be aware that if localised weather and/or sea conditions are deemed not safe to operate/continue operations, services may alter or be suspended with little or no notice in the interest of customer and crew safety.

SSCG will be providing extra ferry capacity out of the mid-lower Yasawa Island region today if required. All customers wanting to travel today and who are not booked must contact SSCG reservations to do so. Those customers booked will be prioritized at time of boarding our vessels.

Tuesday 7th of April 2026:
All SSCG products and services are now suspended for tomorrow. This includes all Resort Transfers & Day Trips across both the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands.

Wednesday 8th of April 2026:
No decision has yet been mad and an update regarding all SSCG products and services to operate on Wednesday, 8th of April 2026 will only be made after reviewing the weather forecast again in 24 hours. There is however a high likelihood some, if not all SSCG products and services may continue to be impacted.

Customers impacted by the suspension of SSCG products & services during this period can defer their travel to another day or if they are unable to defer travel they can cancel without penalty. Please contact reservations@ssc.com.fj or call +679 9995512 to amend your travel arrangements.
