Learn everything you need to know to become a comfortable and confident diver. On completion of the course, you will be awarded the Scuba Schools International (SSI) Open Water Dive Certification and photo ID. This course includes classroom lessons for the theory component and a shallow water session in the ocean around the Mantaray Island Resort house reef, so there is no need for swimming pools. The 4 open water dives are at a wide range of dive sites, giving you more knowledge of different marine environments. Not only this, you will be staying in a beautiful part of the world, so when you are not diving, you get to relax and enjoy everything this resort has to offer with an amazing house reef right off the front of the resort and plenty of other activities to keep you busy should you wish to be.

NOTES

  • All prices are per person and available in the rates sheets. Double/twin rates are per person based on two people booking and sharing the same room/bure
  • Mantaray Island Resort has a compulsory meal plan which is additional and payable either at the time of booking or to the resort on arrival
  • Extra nights accommodation is available on request, prices refer to extra night rates in the ‘Island Stays‘ section
  • All divers must have medical clearance if they have previously suffered from asthma or epilepsy
  • Travel insurance with a scuba diving policy is required and a copy will be requested at check-in

    Dives

    The course includes classroom sessions to cover the theory component and then the dives themselves are in the world-famous house reef right off the front of the resort. The open water course consists of 4 dives in the ocean as well as the shallow water skills session

    The main dining area is located up above the treetops giving you fabulous views across the islands. Fuel Surcharge

Fuel Surcharge applicable for travel

FUEL SURCHARGE IN EFFECT – UPDATED MONDAY 1ST OF JANUARY 2024

South Sea Cruises currently has a fuel surcharge to take effect for customers travelling with us on a resort transfer as well as applicable day trips. 

South Sea Cruises also notes that since setting the 2023/24 transfer rates, the Fiji Government has removed the 10c per litre duty concession which South Sea Cruises had factored into our rates at the time of issue and has now had to absorb. 

The applicable fuel surcharges in effect for travel as of Friday, 1st December 2023 are as follows:

  • Awesome Adventures Fiji Package or Pass customers – $15 per person. 
  • Resort Transfer only customers travelling to/from all Yasawa Island Resorts (including Vomo) – $15 per adult/$7.50 per child (2-15 years only) for each one-way sector. 

All fuel surcharges stated are in FJD and include applicable taxes.

Please note the updated advisory information applicable for Thursday and Friday as follows:

Thursday 9th of April 2026:

•Day Trips across both the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands will remain suspended today.
•Resort Transfers will operate on a reduced schedule which are as follows:

The services which will operate on a reduced schedule today are Routes 1 / 3 / 5 within the Mamanuca Islands and Route 7 in the Yasawa Islands.

The services which remain suspended today include Routes 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 16 / 17 as well as Six Senses boat transfers.

For customer reference, numbered routes can be found here.

Customers impacted by the suspension of Resort Transfers and/or Day Trips during the above-mentioned period can defer their travel to another day or if they are unable to defer travel they can cancel without penalty. Friday 10th of April 2026:
All SSCG products and services will resume to normal operations. All Day Trips & Resort Transfers will operate as scheduled.

SSCG asks all stakeholders to be patient in terms of vessel services over the coming days. There has been a lot of debris washed into the ocean, and which poses a risk to our vessels. Vessels may operate at reduced speeds in certain areas as a result and therefore there may be delays.

This will be the final advisory pertaining to TC Vaianu.
